Hot, Happy, & Hungry

It's been a warm day here in the redwoods, warmer than any day that I've spent here.  I caught up with a group of "Day Hikers" as they returned from their 6 hour stroll up to the summit and back.  They were tired, but very pleased with themselves as they showed determination and perseverance during a challenging event.  It's amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it.

We're just finishing up chosen activities.  The archers were learning how to safely use bows while the rock climbers scampered high in the air under the watchful eye of their leaders.  There was an active game of "Capture the Flag' in the 49ers area as nearby a large group of students watched how three snakes snared and ate their prey.  One group of students made percussive music together while another worked feverishly in the garden.  Hummingbird has promised us some of the Camp Campbell seeds for our own garden.  There was art, and the thrill of the "mole hole, along with "extreme river science".

We are settling in for a little cabin time before dinner and the traditional last night of cabin skits.  It should be a lovely evening.
