Heading home soon...

It's not that you're not loved, but be forewarned that many of your children are not quite ready to come home.  The week has flown by and though we're all tired, the prospect of leaving Camp Campbell is always a sad one.

The first photograph has most, but not all, of the wonderful YMCA staff who have directly supported your children this week.  The smiles on their faces will give you a glimpse into their warm personalities, but can't possibly tell the whole story of the depth of their commitment to every young person who crosses the bridge into camp.

It's no accident that Project Cornerstone and Camp Campbell stem from the same organization.  Your children grew their "caring adult" quotient by a large measure this week.   For those families who look to support worthy organizations in their charitable giving, may I be so bold as to suggest that Camp Campbell is well worth your consideration.

A few final shots from this morning will give you a feel for the smiles that adorn the faces of our 5th graders.  They'll shed some tears (and so will we) as they say good-bye to the cabin leaders, naturalists, field teachers and support staff at the bridge.

We will be back to LA around 1:30.  Please be patient with us and the office staff as we ensure that all 124 students are accounted for.  Remember to collect any medication that is with the teaching staff.  Students may leave with a parent/guardian, but if you want to send your child home with someone else, I'll need a signed note or email.  You must sign out your student before taking them from school grounds before 3:05.  Students who remain at school will be in A-1, relaxing after a demanding 4 days of fun.
