Can it really be less than 24 hours?

I was thrilled to have the chance to share the Nature Lab with a small group of students this morning.  The room is packed full of interesting things:  maps, drawings, stuffed animals, skins, eggs, tools, HUGE cones, etc.  We had the opportunity to get up close and personal with "Miss Jackson" a very lovely, albino snake.  She was incredibly gentle, and the kids were careful to handle her correctly and  keep the room quiet and calm.

Later I popped in on Mark Beetle and his group playing a game of camouflage.  Mark Beetle carries his guitar wherever he goes.  His field group sings along with him and they move between areas in the camp.  At night, when he is on patrol, you can hear him strumming songs and singing softly as everyone drifts off to sleep.

Yesterday we all enjoyed a visit from our beloved Mrs. Jacobs.  She and Mr. Jacobs drove up to spend some time with us in the evening.   Today, Mrs. McGuiness, was our special guest.  She had the opportunity to see some of the groups engaged in various activities.

We're all a little dirtier & smellier, there is only so much one can hope for from a quick camp shower.  Who can possibly turn down the chance to paint one's face with charcoal and other things around camp?  :)  Baths will be in order for everyone when we get home.

I can't stress enough the incredible caring that the students have shown for each other. There has been no "drama" between children and the continue to support each other in ways that would warm your hearts.

I'm off to enjoy a little quality time with my class.   Look for news following tonight's campfire.
