Our class went down and enjoyed a little basketball this afternoon. The students also all had a try at the lateral climbing wall. Quite a feat. We had some circle time where everyone shared their "onion" (least favorite thing) and "orchid" (favorite thing). Onions included getting stuck on the way up, short showers, missing family and so on. Favorite things included the food (did I mention the camp chef will be on Fox's Hell's Kitchen new season), the night hike, the picnic hike, holding the snake, camouflage game, GaGa ball, and so on. Lots of kids had no "onions" to report.
We enjoyed enchiladas, rice, salad and fruit crisp for dinner. At 7:30, everyone headed down to the campfire area for skits. Each cabin presented the dramatic or comedic piece that they had developed throughout the week. They were quite pleased with themselves.
Teachers & students alike are tired. Bedtime was quiet and uneventful. Tomorrow, we will clean cabins, have a short field study and then eat brunch as our last meal at Camp Campbell. We will pack up and head home around noon.
Reminder that we are due back to school at 1:00 (or thereabouts). Students may be picked up immediately upon their return. We will all look forward to a night in our own beds after a fantastic adventure together.
