It's been a wonderful day with the new residents of A-1. They showed themselves ready for the challenges of 5th grade. We delved into getting to know each other, reading assessments, mathematical thinking, and classroom routines.
Students should record their homework in their planner daily. For the month of August, please check and sign the planner. After that, students who show responsibility wrt completing their planner will be released from parental signature.
Look here for news about A-1. I endeavor to include information about homework and other important news.
Please note that information about Science Camp will be coming home in this Friday's white envelope.

Language Arts: Personalize writer's notebook any way they like
Other: Parents have lots of information to complete and return in the Orange Packet
Math: Find as many definitions of the word "volume" that you can.
